• Shot suddenly changes to another
• cuts may be transmitted as fade, wipe or dissolve ( reasons for cutting a shot)
• changes scene and setting

conversation situation: shot and reverse shot

Jump Cut : Single shot interrupted
                    Interruption usually in the background

Transitions:
 
Dissolve: used between two shots, used so shot doesn't suddenly change by blending them together.
Fade In And Fade Out: black screen turns in to shot.(fades in ) vice versa
Long take: shot that takes a long time before cutting to the next scene.
short take: short length  the of time before cutting tot he next scene.

slow motion:

• edited to move slower.
• makes a faster reaction more visible to the audience
• emphasize a moment
• makes a normal thing have a unusual feeling
• emphases violence
